CAPTURE / Academic Initiatives

Independent academic initiatives. Complementary contributions.

Discover two independent initiatives: the Clinical Pharmacology GRADE Group and the International Clinical Pharmacology EBM Group.

TWO DISTINCT INITIATIVES

Methodological development and evidence-informed application.

Their roles are complementary but their academic judgment, governance and outputs must remain independent.

01 METHODS

INDEPENDENT ACADEMIC INITIATIVE

Clinical Pharmacology GRADE Group

This initiative concentrates on methodological questions arising when GRADE approaches are applied to clinical pharmacology and drug therapy.

  • Certainty of indirect evidence for therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and pharmacogenomics (PGx)
  • Causal attribution and certainty of evidence for adverse drug events
  • Certainty of evidence for very large effects observed in small populations
  • Emerging methodological challenges in clinical pharmacology

A methodological guidance project concerning indirect evidence for TDM and PGx is part of this research direction; no publication or approval status is implied here.

02 GUIDANCE

INDEPENDENT ACADEMIC INITIATIVE

International Clinical Pharmacology EBM Group

This initiative focuses on evidence-informed clinical guidance, its application and implementation, and international academic exchange.

  • International clinical practice guideline methodology and development
  • Appropriate use and necessity of TDM and PGx testing
  • Other emerging and high-priority pharmacotherapy questions
  • Knowledge translation, implementation and education
  • International research collaboration

ACADEMIC INDEPENDENCE

The distinction is substantive, not merely organizational.

Presenting an initiative on CAPTURE’s website does not confer ownership or decision-making authority.

BOUNDARIES

No automatic commissioning

Commissioned CAPTURE research does not automatically involve either initiative or its members.

DECISIONS

No purchased influence

Financial support cannot purchase guideline recommendations, favorable evidence judgments or academic endorsement.

ATTRIBUTION

Clear accountability

Specific outputs must identify their actual authors, responsible organizations and relevant disclosures.
